About two months ago, I met a lovely man who happened to be a policeman. He was kind, funny and very charming. I haven't mentioned this but he also works in Suffolk.
I have been giving him a lot of insider tips on working on the 'Ripper' Case.
I suggested that he take out a warm flask of coffee and chat to the girls on the beat and try and find out as much information. This was before FIVE fucking bodies were found.
This was when we thought they were missing because they owed some money or had tried to clean up of the drugs that saw them working the streets in the first place.
My policeman friend took out the coffee and got some great information. I felt I made a little difference.
He spoke to a lovely brunette girl who was very helpful. They just found her body in a stream.
Right now, police are working on five different crime scenes. The last two girls are in a better state than the other victims so forensics have a better chance.

I worked the streets and I always feared something like this happening - falling prey to some sick fucker becauseI had a habit to support. I knew the risks and I had to do it anyway.
It's not a choice for these girls to be on the street even though a serial killer (yes, five in five days classifies him as this) is waiting in a big white van. No sexual assualt.
I'm arguing with many of them which say these girls have no future. Yes, it's a crazy sight to see these young girls chance their life and still walk those orange neon streets. Many of the victims had heroin problems. Yet, strangely all of them had families that are shocked and disturbed to know the fate their daughters have come to!
Bullshit. Fucking drive down the main drag of your town sometime and you will see your daughter walking the streets, jumping into punter's cars and taking a chance with their life.
Open your eyes.
If I had any way of getting down there I would be out there, asking methodone clinics to get them on a program URGENTLY and teaching them how to gauge eyes, break bones and fight to survive. I've sent my policeman on his way to do this - just because they are drug addicted hookers doesn't mean shit. This is war.
Anyone with information that would help Ipswich detectives is urged to contact the incident room on 0800 096 1011 or speak to Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
"My message to you is simple - stay off the streets," said Assistant Chief Constable Jacqui Cheer, of Suffolk Police
What hope does these poor girls have with such a ignorant fucking twat protecting them.

Well personally...... I think the advice to stay off the streets is valid.
The authorities of anywhere can't be in all places at all times.
Stay out of hamr's way is sensible advice.
Yes, but methadone programs are not necessarily all that effective. I assume from the way that you say this that methadone helped you to get off heroin, and if so, then good for you.
But the truth is that heroin is no more addictive, and some would say less addictive than cigarettes. Sure, you can feel a bit rough for a few days of withdrawal, but after that the physical effects are gone.
What is nearly always missing is the psychological motive to quit using heroin. Many heroin addicts only want to quit or use methadone so that they can reduce their habit, save money, and get back to the level where they can use occasionally or at weekends. This approach only tends to provide temporary repite.
Someone who is determined to stop using heroin has to be ready to change their whole lifestyle, maybe change their domestic partner, where they live, even their job, and most heroin addicts don't want to change that much.
I worked in a methadone clinic with 30 clients in 1980 and by 1986 nearly all had died of AIDS from injecting themselves with shared needles.
This is my first post on a blog so I hope it works. I have been caught up with reading Recovering Beauty before. It is wonderfully written and compelling to read. I didn't realise there was also HG from a few years ago. I just wanted to let you know that I think this is really incredible writing! I am sure you know this anyway but I wanted to say so. It is interesting but there are snippets of it that are like your writing from years ago. It definately has a personal aesthetic. It is heartbreaking to read though and I wish that you had never had to go through any of that. It is hard for anyone to fully understand how much things hurt others but your writing conveys a depth to your experiences that makes the reader feel more.
Hope things are going well and that you are having lots of happy moments.
